We invite stage scripts, audio plays, monologues, short screenplays and similar scripted forms that respond to the theme of POWER. You may interpret the theme freely. For inspiration check out the blog post, Interpreting Power.
Eligibility
- Unpublished or previously published work (and work submitted for a UoG assignment) is welcome.
- It must be your original work and you must hold publication rights.
- If previously published, say where.
- Optional 50-word bio may go in the email. All pieces are read anonymously.
Length & Format
- Max length: 6 pages; one script per author.
- File: .doc or .docx.
- Font: 12 pt Times New Roman, double-spaced; Moderate margins.
- Header: script title. Footer: page number.
- Do not include your name anywhere in the document.
Content
- Transgressive themes/language welcome if handled sensitively and not used gratuitously.
- Each piece must be self-contained. Extracts are fine if they stand alone.
- Font: 12 pt Times New Roman, double-spaced; Moderate margins.
- Header: script title. Footer: page number.
- Do not include your name anywhere in the document.
Selection & Editing
- Submissions are selected anonymously.
- Successful pieces will be assigned an editor to coordinate any appropriate edits.
- We’re unable to offer feedback on unsuccessful submissions.

- Email subject: “Scripted – [Type] Submission” (e.g., Scripted – Monologue Submission).
- Send to cwanthology@glos.ac.uk.
- Put your name (and optional 50-word bio) in the email, not in the document.
