Submission closing date is 23rd January 2026
We are excited to be accepting poetry that responds to this year’s anthology theme: Power. You can interpret the theme however you wish. For inspiration check out the blog post, Interpreting Power.
We accept both published and unpublished work, as well as work that has been submitted for a University of Gloucestershire assignment. Please ensure that everything you submit is your original work and that you own the publication rights. If your submission has been published elsewhere, please let us know where.
You are allowed to submit up to four poems.
All poems should be in a single document, with one poem per page. Poems will need 12pt Arial font with single-spaced text. (Unless it as an experimental piece in which the formatting contributes to the poem.)
Submit your poems in a .doc or .docx format. Please ensure your work includes the title in the header and the page number in the footer.
When submitting, please include “Poetry – [Title] Submission” in the email subject line and send it to cwanthology@glos.ac.uk.
- Submissions will be selected anonymously. Please do NOT include your name in the file; DO include your name in the email.
- Transgressive themes are welcome under the provision that they are handled with sensitivity and are not used gratuitously.
- Successful submissions will be given to editors who will coordinate with the illustrator/author to suggest any appropriate edits.
- Unfortunately, we are unable to offer feedback for unsuccessful submissions.
- If you have any questions, please email cwanthology@glos.ac.uk.
